Go to the Updates link on the main webpage, once on that page you will see dates. If you downloaded on or after the listed date you do not need the updates. If you do need updates they are usually announced in game by the The Message of the day gump.
Once you download the new updates to a folder you will remember like downloads. Open up C:Dragonlords folder if you followed directions when you downloaded the main full download. Then open the file you saved these files in and copy them and then paste them to your C:Dragonlords folder and it should say do you wish to replace the files in folder. Go ahead and say yes, so you over write the old files. That's all you need to do. Open up your log in file and make sure you can login with out any problems. Hope your travels in Dragon Lords are fun and enjoyable.
